Capital : Lima, one of the American metropolis , where perfectly combines modernity with a magnificent past full of tradition.

Languages: The official languages ​​are Castilian and Quechua .

Currency: Nuevo Sol

Location : Peru is located in the center of South America. In the central and western part of South America.

 

Natural regions : three regions , according to the shape and relief of the country : Costa , Sierra and Selva

Limits: to the north by Ecuador and Colombia , on the south by Chile, on the east by Brazil and Bolivia , and on the west by the Pacific Ocean.

 

Climate: The average temperature Costa is always smooth and nice and almost never rains. In the Sierra the temperature is cool with some colder areas , but temperatures are bearable gsneral a rainy season not beyond December to April . Jungle ( Amazon Region ) always hot and it rains almost all year .

 

Main products: fishmeal , corn , sugar cane , cotton, coffee , wool , processed minerals, petroleum refining and textiles.

Peru is one of the most important centers of tourist and cultural attraction in the world . In its territory the Amazon River , the longest river in the world and was born ( according to recent studies extension exceeds the Nile ) and shares with Bolivia Lake Titicaca, the highest in the world. In Peru you can find almost all climates of the planet at the same time .

 

The country is divided into 24 departments and one Constitutional Province (El Callao)

Peruvian artistic traditions date back to the elaborate pottery, textiles, jewelry, and sculpture of Pre-Inca cultures. The Incas maintained these crafts and made architectural achievements including the construction of Machu Picchu. Baroque dominated colonial art, though modified by native traditions.
